Match notes
Tor's Chosen arrived in Ostermark with the weather gods as an unseasonal Blizzard struck the Cockerel Stadium enveloping everyone in white and cold (-1 to rush, only short/quick passes). The Yeti looked almost at home. The away fans cheered their Norse team, the weather and their new star player, Cindy Piewhistle, who presented a Statue of Nuffle to the Norse Ulfwerener (gain Pro) and then proceeded to win the toss. The human coach looked even more concerned as his apothecary indicated that the team's Ogre would not be match-fit. The coach was right to be concerned, as the Norsemen chose to receive and went on to promptly injure two Cockerell players, pick up the ball, complete a pass and perfectly throw a bomb into the scrum, putting two more Cockerell players on the floor. Shock and Awe. Tor himself was spotted riding his chariot across the Blizzard.

The Humans, wearing white in a blizzard, decided that caution was the better part of valour and began dodging away (and hiding?) from the still intact Norse line. When Cockerell #8 P. Sarr managed to intercept the second bomb thrown his way, only to fumble it onto the the exact spot Cindy had aimed for, things started to blow up in the Human team's faces...

Tor's new Valkyrie, Astrid (#5), made a quick pass to her fellow valkyrie and utilised the berserker and reliable linemen to carve a path toward the end zone. By this points the Cockerells had gotten a little organised and began to crowd the ball carrier. Sigrid (#4) did some fancy footwork to claim the middle of the pitch and was within scoring range when four Cockerell players gained on her and floored Astrid who was her only support. At the other end of the pitch, two of the Cockerell's were ganging up on Cindy who threw bombs to dissuade them, but they eventually sent her to the injury box. With a bit of help from their Ulfwerener, the path was cleared for Sigrid and she ran in a touchdown toward the end of the first half. The Norse fans were howling in celebration, and decided to Get the Ref on kick-off (bribes for both teams), and a violent game started to get downright dirty. The Cockerell's took perhaps 3 seconds to commit the first foul, and it was another minute for the Norse. While the Cockerells spent their bribe, the Norse simply told the Ref where he could stick his red card and he sensibly backed down. The Human catcher, Richarlison (#10) charged down a pig with a beer barrel on its back, promptly sent it to the injury box and saw an opportunity for a touchdown. But the Norse line was too strong. When a Yeti, Ulfwerener and Lineman blocked the catcher who could make the end-zone, while the berserkers and valkyries crowded anyone else forward on the pitch - the first half was all over, 1-0 to the Norsemen.

The second half started with more threats to the referee (another Get the Ref), but now the Cockerells found their groove with two KOs (one from a foul) and they were quickly up 11 players to the Norse 7. The Ball had gone long, but the Humans ran it forward, Vicario doing some neat passing under the (literal) nose of the Yeti, for Richarlison to score halfway through the second half, setting up a tense end.

The snow was pelting down, and while the Yeti had finally joined the fray in the second half, his manicurist appeared to have dulled those claws as Human armour refused to be broken. Sigrid fouled D. Udogie (Blitzer with Guard) only to be cautioned by the ref - following which the Norse coach cautioned the Ref, and argued him down from throwing his star Valkyrie out. Despite the large piles of gold in the Norse dugout, they just didn't need the money. The Norse coach called a time-out (both teams lost a turn), and as the ball went long and Human catchers chased it, the Norse charged into the fray with 10 players back on the pitch. It was bloody but a Valkyrie collected the ball deep in Chosen territory.

Trying a desperate Block to screen out the ball carrier, the otherwise reliable and Pro Ulfwerener (who had been saved many a time by his Statue) found himself on the receiving end of a thumping (skull & both down) ending the Norse turn, and leaving the ball carrier exposed next their own end-zone.

The Humans charged forward, downing the valkyrie and collecting the Ball (3+ pick up with a last re-roll). A lineman knocked over the new Valkyrie (she will have to learn to dodge soon) and then #10 Richarlison who had scored the first goal picked up the ball (using the last reroll) and was rushing to the goal line when his foot landed on some unseen ice and he crashed to the ground in the end-zone spilling the ball (rolling a 2 to rush, but needing a 3 due to the Blizzard). With that, the Humans snatched a draw from the jaws of Victory - all thanks to the weather. As they left the stadium, Norse fans were heard to be singing "Always bring the weather with you!"
